• DIAGNOSTICS

  We offer the latest in in-house blood and urine testing with our Idexx lab equipment. These tools can test for thyroid and adrenal diseases as well as routing liver and kidney screenings. Results in minutes, instead of days. Even our outside laboratories can provide results in 24 hours on most tests. We offer in-house ECG screenings with a consult to an off-site cardiologist.

• HOSPITALIZATION

  Should your pet need close monitoring and treatment, we provide hospitalization. A variety of intravenous fluids, including crystalloids, Hetastarch, Oxyglobin, even canine whole blood transfusions are available for your pet. The latest fluid pumps will deliver the exact amount needed.  Emergencies can occur at any time. Since our doors are not open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Emergency Clinic is available with an on-call veterinarian and staff. The Tri-County Emergency Clinic is conveniently located at 1800 N. Sterling Avenue, Peoria, Il. Phone 309-672-1565.

• IMAGING

  Meadowbrook is proud to announce that on-site radiographic imaging is available. Meadowbrook now offers the latest in digital radiology! This unique service is the first in the Peoria area! Just like human hospitals, we will be able to take digital films quickly with minimal retakes, providing less exposure to your pet and faster diagnosis. We offer a variey of ultrasound services: abdominal scans, fine needle aspirates, pregnancy checks, echocardiograms with cardiology consult. Many results are same day; some in 24 hours.

• SURGERY

  Should your pet need surgery, we provide similar services that your doctor would take to minimize risk of anesthesia, pre-operative bloodwork, heart and respiration monitor with SpO2, ECG, IV fluids as needed. We perform a variety of surgeries, from spay/neuter and declaws to eye surgeries and tumor resections. Orthopedics include patellar surgeries, cranial cruciate repair, femoral head and neck resections and IM pins.

• PAIN MANAGEMENT

  We make every effort possible control your pet's pain and discomfort whether it is trauma or surgically induced or arthritis. Every patient is given pain meds before surgery (pre-emptive analgesia) and after as needed. Pain meds are also available to go home in capsule, chewables or liquid formulations, depending on your animal's preference. Animals recover faster, eat sooner and play more and are generally happier when their pain is controlled.

• MEDICATIONS

  We carry most medications in our pharmacy for your convenience. From the latest flea/tick/heartworm preventions to nutriceuticals to antibiotics and allergy medications, Meadowbrook usually stocks it. Need a flavor? Need a transdermal gel formulation? We can help. The wrong medications at the wrong time can be very detrimental to your pet's health.  Always follow the directions on your pet's medications precisely...do not save them for future use.  Never give your pet human pain killers or other human medication - they can be deadly.  Use only medicine that has been prescribed by a veterinarian and KEEP ALL MEDICATIONS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS.

• DENTAL CARE

  Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's health and teeth. Dental cleaning with tartar removal, supragingival scaling and polishing and extraction services are available. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup.

• GROOMING

  Grooming is available on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday by appointment.  Kris brings 8 years of knowledge and professional expertise to our clinic.  While grooming, should Kris notice any abnormalities, the doctors will be notified.  She will be happy to do everything from a simple bath and brush to a specialized haircut for your pet.  Space is limited so call early for your appointment.      Treat your pet to a luxurious bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itching. Services also include nail trim and ear cleaning.

• BOARDING

  When you are in need of boarding services, you can rest easy knowing that your pets are being well cared for in our temperature controlled, clean boarding facility.  Several times daily your pet will be allowed outdoors for exercise in our secure playground area.   After three consecutive nights with us, your pet will receive a complimentary cleansing bath on the day they go home.  For complete grooming services see "GROOMING".

• IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE

  We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in wellness programs have rewards for both pets and owners. Our wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

• BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE

  Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. Our veterinarians can help determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client.

  Should the need of day care for your pet arise, we are pleased to offer this service in our boarding facility.

• EUTHANASIA SERVICES

  Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.

• MICROCHIPPING

  Meadowbrook recommends and uses HomeAgain microchip implants. By microchipping more pets and activating the HomeAgain account we can work together to save lives. Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families.

• NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

  Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active. We carry a full line of prescription diets.
